Valentine's Day celebration

Well, our parties were a success! The students had a ball, I am still finding Hershey Kisses hidden in my room, but no problem because I often need a little pick me up and chocolate does the trick. This week in class we will be discussing President Lincoln and President Washington. I have a few writing assignments and some math that will go along with our President theme. We also have our Science day on Tuesday February 21st. We will be discovering our senses. We will also celebrate Mrs. Lessentien's 1/2 birthday and Wednesday we will attend mass for Ash Wednesday. A.M. kindergarten and A.M. K-club will walk over to the church with the rest of the school in a silent procession, starting on Franklin street. The students will recieve their ashes at mass.

I went to a workshop Friday on more ways to use our smartboard, I thought I knew a lot about it, but I was blown away at the endless possiblities. I can't wait for some "FREE" time to try out these new ideas. It just goes to show you there is always something to learn. I also attended a workshop on IPADS in the classroom. I bring my Ipad in for use during my small reading groups, but would love to have more in the class (someday!!!) I learn of a few more great apps for the Ipad that I would love to share with you if anyone is interested just ask me.

This week please send me a note and tell me what I would love to have more of in my classroom and I will give your student a "Large" sticker for their folders.

Thanks for reading.

Next week we will finish up the month talking about dental health.
