Assemble the Minions.... It's the 100th day!

This week we had our 100th day! It was 100 times the fun! We celebrated with several 100 day activities and some Minion cupcakes!!! We started our day with 100 licks of a lollipop and we charted how it looked before and after our 100 licks. Next we discussed what 100 activities we could do. So many of your children said they could eat 100 hamburgers, yikes I don't want to be around for the after affect of that activity. We also estimated where 100 steps would take us in our school. We took 100 steps and ended up in the lunch room! (I wish it was lunch time, we could have had a treat while we were there) We also wrote about what we would do if we had 100 dollars! They will be part of our class books that will come home soon! To end our celebration we ate some cupcakes that were decorated like the Minions from the movie Despicable Me! (My favorite movie, well for this year, very funny!) I am not a baker and as I was making them I questioned why I took on this task. ( I had many problems) However, the student's reactions were priceless. Worth every issue I had. On Friday, we presented our 100 day projects, the students gave their clues and presented their bottles. It was tons of fun guessing what was in each bottle. The pictures and clues will be made into class book that will come home. Of course my camera died during he last 3 presentations, so I am grateful Mrs. Marsicano was there taking pictures. It's always good to have a back-up plan.
For visiting my sight this week.... if you send me a note telling me the name of my favorite movie, I will give your child a crazy crayon pencil.... ( If it feels like I am bribing you to visit my web blog... I guess I am. This helps me know if anyone is actually reading this! Please read this!)
Have a blessed week, check back next week! My goal is to update on Friday nights, but it seems lately it is Sunday night!

New website to try at home

I have found a new website that has some great learning games for all students. It is www.cookie.com
I tried some of the games and they are alot of fun. You will need a flash player to use this site, so if you are using an iPad you will need to down load iswifer, ( i had to pay for it, but it works and it wasn't expensive.). I open iswifter first then type in cookie.com.

I will be uploading pictures from ground hogs day this week, so come back to see them.

This week we will be celebrating our 100th day,we have lots of fun actiities planned and a special cupcake treat. Yummy! Don't forget to finish your 100 day project. We are going to have a lot of fun guessing what everyone brought in.

This week, send me a note with the name of the website I recommended and your student will recieve a lollypop from our lollypop bouquet.

More to come.

Teddy bear math

We have had so much fun this week in math, on Wednesday we brought in our Teddy bears and we graphed them by size, color and clothing. So many Teddy bears what fun. On Thursday we did gummy bear math! It was a tasty math lesson. We sorted by color then we graphed them and counted them. On Friday we will be doing addition problems bases on the information we recoded on our graphs. We have also learned some great facts about bears, we will be writing about them on Friday. Our writing will become another class book. I hope you are enjoying reading them as much as they are enjoying writing them. I will post pictures of the bear activities soon.

Also thank you to my science day helpers, I am sorry I was out sick that day, I always enjoy hands on science. Speaking of science, we have an experiment going on in our class involving evaporation. We started it when we read about Bob the snowman. (he evaporated into the clouds). It is amazing to see how much water has evaporated so far.

Well stop back soon to see our bear pictures.
